Lake & Leaves Wedding Invitations

lake and leaves wedding invitations

I don't always get to meet the people I work with in person, in fact it's really the exception to the rule. Most of my clients are too far for us to ever meet in person so I typically do a lot of skype and facetime when I "meet" my clients, so it's always a treat when I get to actually sit with someone face to face! Kristin lives not too far from me, so we met to talk about her wedding and invites before we started the process and she was so sweet and lovely that I knew working with her would be so much fun! Kristin and her fiance were getting married in Minnesota near their family home, so we wanted to tie in the lovely lakes and green scenery in a more abstract way. So with some leafy details and loose watercolor landscapes we were able to tie in the natural wedding colors. She knew she wanted to include a map, so I painted little icons of the reception and ceremony sites as well as some other area details. One of my favorite details is how you can see the map through the vellum envelope. The whole thing came out so soft and pretty, and worked perfectly with the look of their whole day!

Graphic Mountain Wedding Invitations

Ashley and Kevin had a beauitful wedding at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado. The venue is really lovely and inspired their modern aesthetic. They new they wanted all the text and layouts to be clean and modern with a subtle nod to the lovely mountain ranges surrounding their wedding venue. So we tied in their wedding colors with a mountain silhouette which we used on their logo and the invite. Since SO many people are having destination weddings now, the schedule of events is getting really popular and I always love seeing all the creative things couples have planned for their guests! So I created some modern icons for a list of all the shenanigans they had planned for their wedding weekend! This is also a great example of the address wrap, one of the addressing options I offer along with calligraphy and printed addresses.

Blush Ombre and Gold Foil Wedding Invitations

I think if there were an official color palette for the last two wedding seasons, it would be blush and gold! But no matter how many times people tell me those are their colors, I feel like there is always a way to make it fresh and new and lovely. It's a favorite for a reason! Lauren, the bride, knew she wanted something classic and clean with a modern twist. She had also seen the idea for a mini reception card envelope and knew it was something she wanted to include and I was happy to oblige! I did the modern calligraphy touches for the names and other important details and subtle blush watercolor washes in the backgrounds. Doing a watercolor wash behind the addresses is something I've done on a handful of invitations this year and it's a details i ALWAYS love. We brought in gold foil on the invites and on the small details card and I just love how it all came together! What do you think?

Lovely Leaves Wedding Invitations

In honor of the MILLION leaves currently covering my yard (which are the bane of my existence), I thought I would share a pretty leafy wedding invitation! We had done a bolder save the date with a large watercolor leaf border which I shared earlier this week (see post here) and wanted to follow that up with a softer and more subdued invitation suite. With some lovely thin calligraphy and clean sans serif text complimented by small watercolor painted leaves and vines on the edges, it's all comes together in a modern and natural look. We brought in the hits of gold with the foil return addresses and gold calligraphy addressing. We tied it all together with a delicate help string for a perfect final touch! I'm actually headed over to the Dane Estate today to work withBe Our Guest rental company to use these invites in a mocked up wedding photo shoot that I'm hoping to share in a couple months after it's published!

Lovely Leaves Save the Date

This week I'm sharing the save the dates and invites for this lovely and naturally simple wedding. Heather and Mike were inspired by simple and lovely designs, their wedding was going to be full of lush greenery and they wanted their paper goods to tie in. You can head over to the pinterest board we created together to see where we started for inspirational images and be sure to check in on Thursday to see the follow up invitation!
