This was the final element I designed for Kristine and Gary's wedding that's coming up two weekends from now. Instead of going the traditional route of stand alone escort cards, we decided to make a big impact with a 30x40in seating chart poster instead! By tying in the colors and design elements from her wedding contract and other design elements, the seating assignments become a great intro to the look and feel of the whole reception! We brought in the string lights that I hand painted, but amped them up for this format by adding a gradient background.
One of the general concerns most people have with doing their place cards this way, is that there is no physical reminder a guest can take with them to their seats. To remedy this, we put the guests names on the table numbers so they have that extra assurance that they are in the right place once they reach their seat! Posters like this are often close in cost to individual place cards, but can have a greater impact and more room to play with the design. Kristine is planning to display this is a lovely ornate frame, I can't wait to see how it comes out!
