Hi there! I'm Caitlin Spaulding, the "creator" and "creative" behind Wouldn't it be Lovely. I'm a designer with a passion for weddings. I graduated Rhode Island School of Design in 2007 with a degree in Industrial Design, which means I know how to design and build products both big and small.
For 7 years post graduation, I worked in Footwear design, where I was fortunate enough to travel the world while designing kids shoes. About 3 years in to my career in footwear, I planned my own wedding, which is where I realized that there is nothing I enjoy more, than designing an event, from the smallest detail to the grandest statement piece. A year after our wedding, I started Wouldn't it be Lovely as a side project, working for friends and family, while continuing to work in shoes. Then, 3 years later, to further explore my love for events, I switched industries to begin working as the head of style and design for a catering company where I created art installations, floral designs, custom design builds, signage and more for weddings, social and corporate events. During that time, I was able to continue working on Wouldn't it be Lovely on the side, where it continued to grow and flourish as I began working with people who found me through Pinterest and wedding planners. When it came time for my husband and I to start our family, we realized that Wouldn't it be Lovely had grown enough to be my full time job! So here I am, working with all you lovely people on one of the most joyful and fun days of your lives, I couldn't ask for more!
On a personal note, I live in Franklin Massachusetts with my husband Chris, our baby Charlie, our two dogs, Truman, an american mastiff, and Lincoln, a puggle. We are relatively new homeowners, so I am always working on projects to make our house a home. Head over to the blog to take a look at all our home projects as well as the newest things going on for the weddings I'm working on. In my spare time, I am always searching for wedding and design inspiration (I can never seem to tear myself away!), I also travel as much as possible, build fun things, go for runs, and spend time with my family and friends!
