Hi there! I'm Caitlin Spaulding, the "creator" and "creative" behind Wouldn't it be Lovely. I'm a designer with a passion for weddings. I graduated Rhode Island School of Design in 2007 with a degree in Industrial Design, which means I know how to design and build products both big and small.
For 7 years post graduation, I worked in Footwear design, where I was fortunate enough to travel the world while designing kids shoes. About 3 years in to my career in footwear, I planned my own wedding, which is when I realized that there is nothing I enjoy more, than designing an event, from the smallest detail to the grandest statement piece. A year after our wedding, I started Wouldn't it be Lovely as a side project, doing projects for friends and family, while continuing to work in footwear. Then, 3 years later, to further explore my love for events, I switched industries to work as the head of style and design for an event company where I created art installations, floral designs, custom design builds, signage and more for weddings, social and corporate events. During that time, I kept working on Wouldn't it be Lovely on the side, where it continued to grow and flourish. When it came time for my husband and I to start our family, we realized that Wouldn't it be Lovely had grown enough to be my full time job! So here I am, working with all you lovely people on one of the most joyful and fun days of your lives, I couldn't ask for more!
Wouldn't it be Lovely's studio is based in the Medway Mills out of Medway, Massachusetts, I meet with clients by appointment only, in person or by phone to ensure I’m prepared for your meeting and you have my full attention. Wouldn't it be Lovely is made up of myself and two amazing part time assistants who help bring everything to life!
On a personal note, I live in Franklin, Massachusetts with my high- school sweetheart and husband Chris, our son Charlie, our two dogs, Truman, an American Mastiff, and Lincoln, a Puggle. I love all things design and I am always reinventing our home and anything else I can get my hands on. Head over to the blog to take a look at all our home projects as well as the newest things going on for the weddings I'm working on. In my spare time, I am always searching for wedding and design inspiration (I can never seem to tear myself away!). We believe that travel leads to all the greatest things and are always happy to hop on a plan to explore a new part of the world.
